The chain stopper, also known as chain stopper or anchor chain stopper, refers to a special appliance that catches or clamps an anchor chain. It is fixed between the windlass and the anchor chain barrel, separated from the anchor chain wheel, and bears the pulling force of the anchor and the anchor chain during anchoring and mooring, so that it will not be transmitted to the anchor chain wheel. The chain catcher is arranged on the deck between the windlass and the chain barrel to clamp the chain. After the anchor is thrown, the chain catcher on the brake can transmit the pulling force of the anchor chain to the hull, so that the windlass is not in a stressed state; when sailing, the chain catcher bears the gravity of the anchor and part of the anchor chain, and will be received in the chain barrel The anchor is close to the hull and does not collide. Therefore, the load capacity of the chain catcher base and its supporting structure is very large, and the rationality of its structure is directly related to the safety performance of the ship.
